“We have a challenge with safety here in the state,” Nevada Department of Transportation Director Kristina Swallow said during a recent Transportation Board of Directors meeting.

Impairment and speeding are the largest contributing factors to deadly crashes in the state, Swallow revealed.

• 40% of those between the age of 21 and 54 were impaired while driving at high speeds;
• 33% of 55 and 64 years old were impaired while driving at high speeds
